Rashod Harris
Vice President
Installed in 2013, Rashod is called upon to provide insight on digital marketing strategies for the organization.
Cheryl Davis
Treasurer
Installed in 2013, Cheryl serves as the Financial Officer for the organization.
Irvinia Gregg
Board Member
Installed in 2024 to the board of directors and is the head of logistics for our Men Giving Back program, she coordinates with Social Services to identify families in need during the holiday season.
Christina Kanu
Board Member
Installed in 2018 to the board of directors and is In charge of outreach and community relationship building.
Dr. Harris has served in many capacities and still operates in many- throughout the community. She was a volunteer mentor with the Up Center, a Chairwoman over Youth and Recreation for the Lee Ward Civic League in Portsmouth, and a Program Director of Just Dyvine Dance Crew--an initiative under a non-profit organization called Youth Matter. Dr. Harris is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She serves as the Chairman for the Risk Management Committee for the Lambda Gamma Omega Chapter. She is a member of the Virginia Beach Pearls Foundation, where she formally served as the Co-chairman of the Grants and Sponsorship Committee. Dr. Harris is the President of the Burbage Grant Homeowners Association in Suffolk, Virginia. Dr. Harris is also the Vice Chairman of the Early Childhood Development Commission for the City of Suffolk, Virginia.
Her continuous work has earned her a Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama, in 2011. She was honored as the 2020 Women of Distinction Honoree in the category of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, from the YWCA of South Hampton Roads. And a 2022 Top Forty under 40 Honoree in Hampton Roads from Inside Business.
Our Founder
Dr. Eltonette “Elle” Harris is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia; she is a true philanthropist with a servant's heart. She has dedicated her life to advocating for women and girls worldwide. She has a professional background in the Human Services field where she has experience in family reunification, family stabilization, human trafficking, independent living, foster care, and human service company management, operation and restructuring.
Dr. Harris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Virginia State University. She earned a Master's degree from Norfolk State University in Community Counseling. She earned a second Master's degree in College Leadership and Administration, from what is now known as Purdue University Global. She completed her Ph.D. in Counseling and Human Services from Capella University. Her dissertation is published and titled "Feelings of Inadequacy Experienced by Women Nonprofit Leaders During Organizational Transformation.”
