Volunteer Coordinator

This position is a volunteer position for a 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit. 

 

We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to assist with the logistics of the Volunteer Program, including applications and screening, record management, recruitment, training, assigning and supervising volunteers. 

 

The perfect candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Additionally, the candidate should possess the ability to multi-task, be extremely organized, and supervise a large number of people. Flexibility and being able to make flash decisions are highly desired traits. 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience of operating within a coordinator role, program administration, or office management as well as experience working with a nonprofit. 

  •  Proven written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and obtain results through others.

  • Demonstrated skill in administrative functions, including data entry, database and record management, and proficiency in the use of MS Office applications and MS Outlook.

  •  Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team (IDT).

  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Fundraising Coordinator

This position is a volunteer position for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which reports to our Director of External Relationships.

 

We are seeking a volunteer to spearhead our fundraising opportunities. The ideal candidate will develop and implement a fundraising plan which will cultivate and nurture successful relationships with current and potential sponsors and individual donors, secure new funding opportunities, and develop effective fundraising programs and events. Additionally, candidate will have a high level of drive whether working as an individual or as a part of a team. The ability to multitask in a changing environment and handle competing demands and unexpected events are a MUST. 

 

Preferred candidate will be a dynamic and creative professional with the ability to clearly and strategically communicate the shared values of our organization while working to help us meet funding goals.

Qualifications

  • 2 (+) years’ experience in sales, corporate development or fundraising  (experience with Business or Nonprofit Management a plus).

  • A network of contacts and potential funders to bring to the organization.

  • Experience of organizing and contributing to events.

  • Proven relationship building and negotiating skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Understand business implications of decisions, align work with strategic goals, complete administrative tasks and develop strategies to achieve organizational goals.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Blogger

This position is a volunteer position for a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit.  

 

We are looking for a talented Blogger to generate engaging, original content for our website. The Blogger will research topics and develop interesting posts that will appeal to our target audience and promote the blog using social media, direct email, and other methods to alert and expand our readership. The Blogger should be a skilled, tech-savvy writer who can create appealing, insightful posts that will reach and grow our audience.

 

Responsibilities​​

  • Generating, researching, and pitching ideas for posts.

  • Writing, editing, publishing, and promoting content.

  • Promoting new posts using advertisements, emails, social media, and other methods to alert and attract new readers.

  • Advocating and educating others about interests, products, or services.

  • Maximizing site traffic by utilizing Search Engine Optimization keywords.

  • Inviting other bloggers, experts, or other notable guests to contribute content to the webpage.

  • Monitoring responses to posts via the website, social media, or other platforms to better understand the audience.

  • Staying current on industry trends for possible opportunities to attract new readers or create stronger, more engaging content.

  • Pursuing or possess a bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related field.

  • Writing experience or familiarity with certain interests or a specific field.

  • Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills.

  • Creativity and adaptability.

Social Media Intern

This position is a volunteer position for a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit.  

 

We are seeking a Social Media intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. The ideal candidate will be full of personality, creative and have the ability to understand voice and tone and curate content in a way that reflects the organization’s personality. Moreover, the candidate will possess strong written and oral skills with the demonstrated ability to build and engage an audience/following. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the management of social channels 

  • Monitor and post blogs

  • Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more

  • Students applying for this internship must be currently enrolled in a college or university.

  • Must have 3 years of academic or experience on the Web and a solid understanding of generational markets.

Nonprofit/Human Services Intern 

This position is a volunteer position for a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit.  

 

 

We are seeking a Nonprofit/Human Services intern with a passion for public sector service and community engagement. An ideal candidate will want to gain experience in community and economic development, and urban studies. Assignments are expected to be carried out under limited supervision within the office or remotely, therefore only candidates with sound judgment, time management skills, and internal motivation should apply.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Using their individual interest, the candidate will research and investigate new grant sources or innovative programs and present pertinent information to the CEO and Board members.

  • Perform assignments relating to city planning, economic development, redevelopment initiatives, and program development.

  • Develop and draft internal and external documents and materials to build or retain relationships with donors, volunteers, community members, and other supporters of the non-profit organization.

  • Fundraising Activities – Coordination of existing fundraising efforts while exploring new approaches to generate support for the affiliate.

  • Outreach – Increase awareness of the affiliates goals and the mission it serves, to as wide of an audience as possible.

Requirements

  • Students applying for this internship must be currently enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university at the graduate or undergraduate level.

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience academic experience, volunteer, or work experience in the human services/nonprofit field.

  •  Must have own reliable transportation and laptop.
